Direct-Fired Helical Coil Heaters

ETI’s helical coil heaters consist of a cylindrical shell internally insulated with ceramic fiber containing a helically wound process coil. The burner directs hot combustion gases through the centerline of the heater thus transferring heat to the exterior surfaces on the process coil. The hot combustion gases travel the length of the heater and return via the annular space between the outside of the coil and the inside of the heater. Combustion gases exit via the stack on the burner end of the heater.

The helical coil heater utilizes lightweight softwall ceramic fiber insulation. This lightweight insulation permits rapid ramp up of the heater without damage to internal components or the process coil. This insulation retains very little heat which permits rapid changes in heater outlet temperature.
